"She's dangerous!" is what Bo Diddly said about Duffy Bishop at his recent Portland OR. 75th Birthday Concert at the Crystal Ballroom,
where Duffy and Band opened the show. This Grammy nominated, Washington Blues Society and Cascade Blues Association Hall of Famer has been enjoying a banner year
with the completion of a new cd, "Ooh Wee" released in August on
the Trillium Label. Duffy performed to a packed Seattle Stadium
where she shared the stage with Ruth Brown, Howard Tate,
Shemekia Copeland and Bonnie Raitt. Bishop then garnered the Cascade
Blues Association's "Muddy Awards" for Best Female Vocalist, Best
Contemporary Blues Band and Performance of the Year at the 2003
Waterfront Blues Festival. Icing on the cake for Bishop came with starring
in the San Francisco production of One Reel's Teatro ZinZanni as Madame
ZinZanni, a role previously filled by American icon, Joan
Baez. From this performance Duffy was chosen by the Palazzo Theater,
with whom she performed in Vienna, Austria for five months in 2004-05.
Duffy Bishop is a favorite at festivals, clubs, and theaters. She is loved for her
personal warmth, humor and booming, emotional voice. She lives to entertain, and she loves the fans that make her life's passion possible. Ms. Bishop is thrilled to be a part of your event!
